5 Easy Ways to Spruce Up Your Bathroom

Have a guest bathroom or powder room that is dated, old, or is just, well, a bit of an eyesore? Or is yours a one-bathroom home that you need to make guest-ready before out-of-town visitors arrive? No matter what your situation or your budget, here are some easy and inexpensive projects to make your bathroom look almost new again!

1. Fresh caulking. Re-caulking a bathtub or shower is a simple project that produces transformative results with very little effort. It requires few tools, and no special skills. 2. New toilet seat. Here is a cheap and easy way to make your toilet look almost-new, without actually replacing the toilet. Go designer or go basic, the choice is yours. 3. Keep the water flowing freely. By all means, make sure that your sink and tub or shower are free and clear of hair clogs and the like. Note: Be absolutely sure to get a paint base that is intended for kitchens and bathrooms, as you will need something that is mold and mildew-resistant.

5. Decorative Touches. This may be obvious to some, but never underestimate the power of a lovely scent. Consider something clean-smelling and classic, such as lemon or lavender. For bathrooms with limited or no counter space, small, artfully arranged pictures on the wall will add a finished touch to your powder room. Add to this a new shower curtain and some decorative hand-towels, and your bathroom will be sparkling and ready for company!
