If You Have a Speed Square, You Have a Level.  

Here is another handy use for your speed square that you may not have known about…you can also use it as a level!  This technique is great to know if you do not have a level, or if you just don’t happen to have one in reach while you are working on a project.    

To use your speed square as a level, use it in combination with your plumb bob (or a makeshift plumb bob will also do, such as a chalk box, or in a pinch, even a piece of string with a few nuts on the end of it). It will work perfectly as a level for you every time.
