An electric miter saw, also called a chop saw, makes straight and miter cuts with precision.  While it is not an absolutely necessary tool to have for the home do-it-yourself enthusiast, it can be incredibly helpful, particularly when making frames or when cutting large quantities of lumber.  For information on how to use a miter saw, check out the following video:
