A corded electric drill is a tool used for drilling holes in various material using drill bit attachments.  Corded and cordless drills serve the same functions. Corded drills, however, while less mobile than the cordless type, have the advantage of providing greater power at a cheaper cost.  Corded drills are preferable to cordless for the heavier-duty tasks such as mixing up joint compound, grout, and plaster.
