stainless steel appliances

Car wax, for Appliances?

Yes, car wax, for appliances!  Move over, surface cleaners. Stand in the back, glass cleaner, and make room in the broom closet for car wax. It turns out that car wax, in liquid or paste form, makes a fabulous cleaner for stainless steel appliances.

Everyone wants stainless steel appliances these days, and yet they are a bit trickier to keep clean than their black, white and avocado-colored counterparts.  This is because their beautiful shiny surface shows every bit of grime and every finger print and smudge.  So, if you own stainless steel kitchen appliances, you may want to consider using car wax to clean them, instead of a surface cleaner. Simply apply a light coat of car wax to the appliance, and buff to a light sheen. This actually helps to reduce the finger prints and smudges.  A word of warning to the fellas and car enthusiasts in the household:  If your car wax isn’t in the garage where you left it, try looking in the broom closet!
