5 Easy Ways to Refresh Your Home for Fall

Contributed by Chantee Lavette Sneed, Southern Girl Interiors

At last fall is here! While the trees are changing colors and shedding their leaves, Mother Nature is in the midst of redecorating the outdoors….an exterior refresh of sorts, but she doesn’t have to be alone in this epic event. You too can refresh your interior space.

Here are 5 easy ways to get your home ready to receive guests for the upcoming holidays.

  •  Tip 1: Replace your welcome doormat. If people step over your worn-out doormat, in fear of how it looks….well, now would be a good time to create a great first impression.

  • Tip 2: Update your light bulbs. Sounds simple enough, but many people don’t have the correct wattage bulb for the source of light being used. By replacing your bulbs, you will not only brighten your space during this time of overcast & shorter days….but you can also be more energy efficient, and save money on your bill too.

  • Tip 3: Add a scent sachet to your coat closet. This area is probably being used a lot more now, so why not freshen it up with a scented sachet or even tape a few (unused) dryer sheets to one side of your closet. They will be out of sight, but not out of smell.

  • Tip 4: Purchase some new cozy throws……who doesn’t like to cuddle in front of a fire or while watching a good movie? A new throw can not only bring warmth, but also add some color to your home décor.

  • Tip 5: Add some new decorative pillows….my most favorite thing to refresh for fall! By adding some new decorative pillows, your home will get a mini facelift. Go for some seasonal pillows, or if your existing pillows have lost their umph…try re-stuffing or adding some fluffy new inserts to bring them back to life.

These easy & simple ways to refresh your home will bring smiles all around that you, your guests & even your home will appreciate.

So Happy Decorating!!!
