If you have never heard of a wire saw, you’re not alone.  Yet if you like to camp, fish, or hike, it is an invaluable tool, because it is so compact.  It literally fits in your pocket! No need to bring along an unwieldy hatchet or bow saw on your next camping trip if you have a wire saw.

The way it works is that you wrap the blade around the branch or tree that you want to cut, grab the handles in both hands, and move the blade back and forth.  

You will be surprised at how efficient the blade is, and how quickly you will be able to make your cut.

Believe it or not, you can even use the wire saw in place of other saws for cutting branches when you are doing yard work, in areas where a bow saw might be too awkward.

Best of all, the wire saw is very inexpensive (usually you can get one for less than $10).  It is super sturdy, and will cut tons of tree limbs and branches for firewood in a snap.

So if you’re planning a camping, fishing or hiking trip this summer, don’t forget to bring along a wire saw.  You will be glad you did.
