April 14, 2015 A Tree for Every Zone this Arbor Day (April 24)
Arbor Day is right around the corner, and here at See Jane Drill, we are getting into the tree-planting spirit!
Arbor Day is believed to have originated as early as 1805, and the first United States Arbor Day was celebrated in 1872 in Nebraska, where over 1 million trees were planted. The holiday is also celebrated on different days in many other countries worldwide, including Australia, England, Brazil, China, Egypt, Israel, Kenya, and India.
We love the tradition of replenishing our trees and contributing to a greener, cleaner environment. To give you some ideas for trees that will work well in your area, we have selected a lovely tree for each hardiness zone in the U.S. The trees listed below will add a little excitement and character to any yard that needs a pick-me-up. Best of all, you will watch your tree grow and provide shade, greenery, and a resting place for birds and wildlife in the years to come.
