Cleaning the coils on the refrigerator is an easily forgotten task. Since we don’t usually see the dust and hair that collects beneath and behind our refrigerators, it is one of those “out of sight, out of mind” situations.  So, it often goes undone until it’s too late.

A refrigerator’s coils really should be cleaned every six months, especially when there are pets in the home. Yes, it is a job that can be slightly awkward and a little dirty.  But there is a simple, inexpensive brush that you can use that will make the job go easier and more smoothly.

And, keeping the refrigerator coils clean will keep the appliance running optimally, and may ultimately extend its life.  It also helps to reduce the amount of energy your refrigerator uses, which will save you money on your electric bill.  And we can all use that!
