DIY Tool Tip:  Painter’s 5-in-1 Tool Uses

Unless you happen to be painting a brand new surface, chances are, there is going to be some preparation and repair work that goes along with any DIY painting job that you undertake.

This is where the 5-In-1 painter’s tool comes in.  As its name suggests, this tool (which is also sometimes just called a “painter’s tool”) has 5 generally suggested uses:

1. Scraping old paint, loose material, etc from the surface that is going to be painted.

2. Spreading joint compound to make repairs

3. Widening cracks and crevices to make them easier to repair

4. Pulling out old nails from the wall

5. Cleaning Paint Rollers.  Perhaps the coolest use of all, many folks may not realize that the curved edge of the tool is intended to be used to scrape and clean your rollers of excess paint.

In addition to these uses, you can also use the straight edge of the tool to open paint cans, and the handle of the tool to hammer down paint can lids to seal them.

This is an inexpensive tool that will make just about any DIY painting job go easier and more quickly!
