4 Paint Clean-up Tricks
A lot of us don’t mind and perhaps even enjoy painting a room in our homes. But I dare you to find anyone who likes the clean-up portion of a paint job. Here are 4 paint clean-up tips to make this process as smooth, quick and painless as possible:
1. Put your paint roller tray inside a plastic garbage bag before filling it with paint. When you are done, voila, just unroll the bag, tie it up and throw it away. You will be left with a clean paint tray. This trick also helps if you need to change colors midway through a paint job.
2. Save those paint stirrers to help with clean-up. You know those wood paint stir sticks that you get from the home improvement store? Save them for the clean-up portion of the job. There is a notch in one side that you can use to scrape excess paint from your roller right back into your paint can. This not only speeds the process of cleaning the roller, but also keeps you from wasting paint. A 5-in-1 Paint Tool has a notch that performs the same function.
3. Get yourself a spinning paint brush and roller cleaning tool. You can pick one up for less than $25. It will last for years, and nothing beats it for cleaning paint brushes and rollers quickly and easily.

4. Clean your 5 gallon paint buckets without any water needed! If you have a 5 gallon paint bucket, you might be dreading having to clean it up. But with this trick, no worries! Just let the (latex) paint dry, and then peel it right off. We show you how it works here: The Easiest Way to Clean Out a Paint Bucket
