How to Make a Miter Cut in Laminate Counter Top.
If you are installing your own laminate counter tops, you will definitely want to watch this video!
Learn how to make a perfectly straight miter cut in laminate counter top (the type with the built-in backsplash), using only a circular saw and a hand saw.
This technique will work whether you need to make a miter cut (inside or outside miter) or a straight cut in laminate counter top. This is a great skill to have if you are able to pick up heavily discounted counter tops on clearance at the home improvement store, and you need to custom-fit them to your own kitchen.
With the technique we show you, you won’t even need to have a miter saw to make these cuts! You will learn:
- How to strike your 45-degree line
- How to set up your straight edge or jig
- How to protect the laminate surface from being damaged during the cutting process
- How to make the initial cut with your circular saw
- How to set up and make the final cut through the backsplash with your handsaw (we recommend using a Japanese Saw for this part of the job, as it is designed for this type of precision cutting)
You can definitely do this!
