This is to congratulate Leah for the superb instructions of home/buildings repairs. Her presentations are top notch professional and very clear. Thank you so much for instructing us klutzes. Well done!
I enjoy your instructions for everything I have tried to learn. You make it so simple. I think I have found myself a new best friend. My daughter and I are attempting to make some pantry shelves, and believe it or not you are helping us. Thank you so much. I will be visiting your site often.
I watched your video on using a commode auger. It was great! Very clear instructions without going on forever; right to the point. I usually watch several videos when learning “how-to” do something. But your video was the only one I needed to watch. I am now sure I can do it too!!!!! Thank you sincerely!!!
Hi Leah, just want to say I thnk you are awsome! I watched your video on making a floating shelf and most recently laminating counter tops. You give plain and simple instructions and I’m also a great believer in “you can do it”
This past year I have decided to redo my dinning room my self and had one of my neighbors teach me how to use a nail gun, another neighbor let me borrow his table saw and now I have his router, after much research on “how to” videos. Then I stumbled across your videos and I was hooked. Thank you, thank you!!
Wish I had done this years ago, but it’s never too late, am 71 and enjoying this learning process, with your helping videos. I am a true fan.
Now, I do have a question, can I laminateon top of an old laminated cabinet? I know the edges will come off, not sure about the top? Thank you for your time
Made a long cut, 8′, on a piece of Smartside panel. It was also my first time to use a circular saw. I may not have had the courage, or know-how, to do this on my own, if it weren’t for your videos.
I have been watching D.I.Y videos for a long time , and let me tell you . This the best set of videos that are out there. clear, concise and to the point .no waffling and long winded explanation.I love Leah.
Thank you.
I am going to attempt to smooth out our bathroom wall using your skim coat technique. What size finishing trowell do you use? I couldn’t find it on your website! I watched several videos and yours was the best!
You are the best. My husband past several years ago and I depended on him to repair everything. I so wanted to learn to complete house projects on my own. I watched several videos for instruction, but yours was the best. You are clear, you use terms I understand, you explain everything in simple detail and I don’t feel like an idiot listening to you. You are very easy to follow and your site offers written instructions as well. I am hooked. You gave me the confidence I needed to try my first project. Thank you so very much for your instruction.
Hi Marcy,
I’m sorry for your loss. It’s so wonderful to hear from you, and that we have been of help to you. I’m curious, what was your first project? Kind regards, Leah
I came across your videos by chance on Youtube. I have been doing home improvments for years not knowing good techniques. You are the best instructor I have ever seen! Thank you very much!
Leah, you have the gift – you are a superlative teacher. I love your how-to videos.
Thank you for all of your assistance. I ALWAYS check your instructional videos for any job I attempt, even if I have done it before. Although I have a fair amount of experience, you pass along “tricks” and tips and shortcuts that never occurred to me.
Thank you again. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience.
Hi Leah, I just watched one of your videos! You are awesome and a great instructor. You tell the how and the why of doing things. It was so helpful! Keep up the good work! -Lisa
Wow! I’m all thumbs when ii comes to DIY but you have actually enabled me to do some projects. Entertaining, articulate, explicit and clear. Just a wonderful job! Thank you so much.
Leah thank you for being there to teach us. Like Marcy my husband passed several years ago. I will not move and I will not be taken advantage of. I am convinced that “I Can Do This”
I’m so loving her, I can’t get enough of her advise, educational videos. Make me want to come back into handy work. I hope my wife didn’t hear that…anyways. I’d subscribed. By the way. Leah is also my daughter’s name.
Leah, I just watched your “compressor for beginners” video. Awesome! I read another comment that said ” you have the gift!” I CONCUR!! The best I’ve seen! Keep up the good work!
Superb presentation – I concur: “You have THE GIFT.”
Thanks so much for taking the time to share with all.
You’re an inspiration!

Since I’m not house handy, I appreciate those that are. Even more do I appreciate those who can communicate those insider keys that help me understand how to do a project. Much love!

I’m a teacher at an Elementary school and I just used you prior to our Winter Break as an example that anyone can do a job when you put your mind and effort toward a set goal. You have become a hero of sorts to some of my female students (4th Graders). I told them how I learned to operate an air compressor from you by watching your video on YouTube.
Thank you for making these videos and inspiring young minds as well as my own.
I am new to the sole ownership of my home . I am disabled and have a disabled son ( we can do a lot together , you’d be surprised ) . I am now responsible for all the fix it jobs that I can learn to do . Leah explains things in a manner that is not condescending and not too technical . Just the right delivery ! Thank you , I feel empowered by the knowledge !
Love your videos. I’ve found that the best teachers are those who love what they do. You make it clear that this is important, but can be fun and definitely doable. Thank you! And big thank you for the pace: not so slow as to make me feel grouchified but just right. You are my Goldilocks of how to vids. All my best. ps As a single mom, my daughter grew up hearing me say, “it’s doable, just take it in small bites” and seeing that yes, I could do anything that I had the right tools, time, and instruction Plus she learned how to deal with the little bumps in a project that can make one ‘grouchified’ and how to keep ones inner Oscar contained. Lol
Leah,
You are a Godsend to all of the DIY’er home repair man/women. I totally enjoy watching your videos and your style of teaching is always spot on and professional. Keep up the great work that you do teaching and bringing new light to people who are looking for new and better ways to make home repairs!!!

Leah and Karen. Thank you so much for the videos! You inspired me to change out the toilet in my bathroom. I couldn’t have done it without your video. Before I tackle any of the jobs in my DIY projects i always consult your website, first, i have shared your website with other women. Thank you for this wonderful service.
What an excellent teacher. She truly has that magical talent of making things you never dreamed that you could tackle seem within your grasp. I just had a $12,000 quote to skim our textured plaster walls and ceilings which is way beyond our means. Her video has given me the encouragement to try to skim it myself. I am sure it will be a long process but I feel equipped with the skills now to tackle it.
Hi Sarah, I would recommend practicing the skimming in a closet first, so that you get the hang of it before moving on to the rooms. Good luck with your project!
Oh Leah, my new best friend. I’m rehabbing a house, the whole thing, mostly by myself, except when I need some muscle for heavier lifting. I gutted bathrooms, kitchen, top to bottom. New sub floors in 4 rooms. Yeah, fun. I watched your video numerous times about installing shut off valves. I finally held my breath, shut off the whole house water supply, and dove in. And I did it! 4 shut off valves, 2 new faucets, 2 new sinks in one bathroom. And not 1 leak, anywhere. Not in the supply line, faucet connection, or drain to sewer line. Thank you so much for your guidance.
Your instructions are spot on. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I’ve installed windows, hung doors, tiled shower and tub surround. The next big project is installing hardwood floors. The plumbing part was a little intimidating, you made it so easy.
Marti
I found your video by accident and absolutely love your website. I’m an experienced DIY woman but occasionally need help with projects I don’t do regularly. Thanks to you, I am going to try my first demo of a wall. Thanks for giving me the confidence I need to give a big project a go!

I am a 65 year old single female. I live in the country. When it comes to repairs I try to do as much as I can myself to save on repair costs. Thank you for all the simple tips that makes repairs easier
Hi Leah,
Ive never commented on a DIY video even though I’ve watched millions. But after watching several of your videos I just need to say Bravo! You make something so clear and appear easy- the clarity of your videos- just look at most other DIY videos-which can be tragic. When things look so easy I realize that a lot of work and time has gone into your producing your videos. There is some thought about how to best show an idea or concept. And also most important you don’t just say do this, then this, then this- you answer the question WHY! Things are so much easier to understand and remember when you supply the reasons/rationale behind an action. You need to make a video about “how to make a quality DIY video”! Thank you. Paul
Hi Paul, thank you so much! It is so nice when someone appreciates the effort, thought, and hard work that goes into our videos. I can’t thank you enough, because it helps us to know that people get it. LOL about us making a video on how to make a video. 🙂 Regards, Leah and Karen
Hi Leah! Came across you and your website today while researching info on how to repair a table lamp. Your video and instructions were clear, concise and very easy to not only understand but to thoroughly follow as well. Guess what…I did it! I fixed that darned lamp and am now looking for other home projects to tackle (with your help, of course) that have previously frightened and intimidated me! Thank you so much for your time, energy and effort. You and your expertise are much appreciated!
Your instruction for laying out floor for tilling was very helpful. I used that method to layout for tilling our kitchen island as well. After all, a surface is a surface, right?
Awesome instructive videos! When I have any questions about a remodeling project on my house….I watch your videos…..and they really Nail it! I’m able to take on projects that I’ve never done with confidence….more importantly….some knowledge….Thanks
Hello Leah
Wow!I just discovered your videos!! Saying that you are “helpful” is a shameful understatement!! As a fairly new single homeowner with a modest income, taking on home improvement projects can be scary financially and otherwise. Thank you for taking the fear away. Your clear, concise and enthusiastic presentation makes me want to tackle all the things I was about to give up and just pay someone to do! See Jane Drill is providing hope to those of us who have big home improvement dreams, but lack the confidence to try!
Remodeled two guest bathrooms and saved a lot of $$$ by watching these videos. I never thought that we could change a toilet, replace a faucet and bathroom vanity or a bathroom toilet valve. Thank you Leah for the simple yet thorough explanations.
Leah, you are amazing!! My son and I love you. Thank you for the wonderful videos that have helped me save money time and time again. I CAN do it…thanks to you! Fran & Finn

Hi Jane, It’s just called a finishing trowel (for plaster). Just be sure you don’t get a masonry trowel, which tend to be longer and narrower.
You are the best. My husband past several years ago and I depended on him to repair everything. I so wanted to learn to complete house projects on my own.
