Have you ever wondered exactly how much is in 1 yard of something, whether it be a yard of sand, mulch, pebbles, or soil? Well, 1 yard means 1 cubic yard, or 3 cubic feet.

“1 yard” is the amount of material that will fit into a space that is 3 feet high x 3 feet wide x 3 feet deep.

Likewise, a half yard is the amount of material that will fit into a space 1.5 feet high x 1.5 feet wide x 1.5 feet deep.
