Watch this video to learn how to build a floating shelf for your home, using the quick and easy technique of cutting down a wood door to create the shelf. This DIY project can be completed in an afternoon, and costs about $30 for the materials. This floating shelf is especially nice for displaying light to mid-weight collectibles, such as photographs, artwork, and knicknacks.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your site and you now have yet another new youtube subscriber as well!!! I love to build and make things, and it always seemed so intimidating! But since I started, I fell in love with it and now I found you for more great ideas and wonderful tutorials!! I am so excited and can’t wait to see more. 🙂 Thank you for taking the time to make these!
Thanks, Mayra, I’m glad you found us, and I appreciate your comments very much!!
Outstanding tutorials! I just started finishing my basement and have always been fairly handy as an electrician for the past 10 years. Lately, I’ve been finding myself lost in tasks I’ve seen performed hundreds of times, but have yet to ever do on my own. You’ve opened my eyes to all kinds of things that I have always thought to be intimidating and made them SO simple. Your explanation in thought process is exceptional. I consider you to be on the same level as Bob Villa and Tom Silva. Thank you for making life easier!
Wow, Mike, thank you so much! That is really nice to hear and very kind of you to say, especially since you are already in the trades! Best of luck with all your projects. Regards, Leah
