How to Fix a Leaking Toilet Flapper. Here is a small plumbing problem with an easy fix that maybe you have or have had, but didn’t know what it was. The clue is that you will have noticed that your toilet tank fills for a few seconds every couple of minutes, even when no one has been using the toilet. You can hear it. The cause of this issue is usually a leaking toilet flapper. What happens is that water leaks out of the tank through the faulty toilet flapper, and into the toilet bowl. This causes the water level to go down, which sends a signal to the fluidmaster to add more water to the tank. Over time, uncorrected, this wastes quite a lot of water, and causes your water bill to go up!
The good news is that this is a very easy and inexpensive DIY fix that anyone can learn how to make, and it can be done in about 15 minutes or less. Just watch our video below to learn how to replace your toilet flapper, and you will save money on your water bill.
