The Coolest DIY Painting Resources. Every so often we discover some really cool DIY resources, that we like to share with our readers. Here are 3 painting resources that we think are pretty great:
- Valspar has a “Virtual Painter” on their website that enables you to see what any color would look like in the interior or exterior of your home! No longer do you just have to look at a small paint swatch in the store and imagine what the color would look like on your walls or siding. And before you even think about going to the store, you can preview any color on this online painter. It is VERY cool!
- Are you sometimes unsure about how much paint you actually need to buy for your project? Well, you don’t have to guess anymore about how many gallons of paint you need. Check out the Benjamin Moore Paint Calculator here. Simply enter in your specs, and it will tell you exactly how much paint you should buy.
- This last one is an actual type of paint, called Fine Paints of Europe. It is worth mentioning because it is just so special, and provides such a spectacular finish. Fine Paints of Europe is imported from Holland, and is formulated in a different way than traditional paint, so it has the most vibrant color, incredible finish, and lasts twice as long as traditional paint. Yes, it is more expensive for sure, but is something you would use when the finish is tremendously important, such as when painting kitchen cabinets. It is also worth considering for the outside of your home, since it is so long-lasting.
Remember, YOU can do this!
