April 17, 2015  Friday Find:  Compost Thermometer from Cate’s Garden.

You can turn the contents of your compost bin into usable compost for your garden more quickly by monitoring the temperature of the pile.  You don’t want your compost to be either too hot or too cold…a temperature between 135 and 160F is just right.

Our friends at Cate’s Garden have developed a premium compost thermometer that couldn’t be easier to use…just insert the end into your compost pile, wait 60 seconds, and read the gauge.

Want to know what to do if your compost pile is either too warm or too cool?  Check out this article from Cate’s Garden on what steps to take to adjust the temperature of your compost.
