Be Prepared for Your DIY Project. Give yourself the best chance for success at your DIY project, by making sure you are set up and organized beforehand.
Make sure you take these 3 steps:
1. Straighten Up Your Work Space. This may sound obvious, but to ensure that you can focus on the job at hand, make sure your work space is clear of both clutter and distractions. This holds true whether you are working in a kitchen, bathroom, garage, or your backyard! Pick up a little bit before beginning the job, and make sure children and pets are out of the work area. It makes a big difference.
2. Lay Out Everything You Will Need. In the beginning of many of our how-to videos, we lay out our tools and supplies, and go over what you will need for the job, including tools, materials and personal protective equipment. You should do the same. Try to remember everything, so that you aren’t interrupting yourself to go get that wrench or roll of paper towels from another room. This will make the job go much more smoothly.
3. Keep Instructions Nearby. Whether you are watching a See Jane Drill how-to video on your phone, reading a how-to guide, or simply following the manufacturer’s instruction manual, make sure you have it by the ready as you begin your DIY project.
And always remember,YOU can do this!
