Painters-Tool-5-in1

The 5-in-1 painter’s tool is, as its name suggests, a handy must-have tool for those who love to paint.  We use ours all the time.  But did you know that it has lots of other great uses?  At under $10 a pop, everyone should have one of these in their tool box.  It’s “official” uses are:

1. Cleaning – The half-circle blade is ideal for cleaning/scraping the paint out of paint rollers, avoiding paint waste.

2. Opening – The square end of the straight blade is the perfect tool to open paint cans, and in fact works much better than a screwdriver for this task.

3. Scraping – The straight blade is great for scraping off old paint

4. Pick – The point has a variety of uses that you would need a point for, such as gouging out old paint from crevices, and removing old staples.

5.Spreading – The flat side makes a great spreader

But wait, there’s more!

6. Use it to scrape up old candle wax, spilled glue, or (yuck!) someone’s old chewing gum.

7. For a temporary door stop, it works well as a wedge.

8. The point works as a makeshift phillips screwdriver!

9. Use it to remove old bathtub caulk.

10. When replacing floor tile, use it to scrape up the old thinset and grout.

You may discover even more uses for this cheap little gem of a tool!
