What is a Spoke Shave?

What is a spoke shave? It is like a plane, but a plane that is used to create rounded shapes. They were originally used to create wheel spokes (hence the name “spoke” shave).

Today, spoke shaves are used to create all types of wooden rods and items which have rounded edges, including arrows, poles, chair legs, wooden musical instruments, and cabriole legs. They are also useful for wooden art projects and crafts.
