How to Cut Ceramic Tile with a Jig Saw.  Written instructions to accompany the how-to video, How to Cut Ceramic Tile with a Jig Saw.  This is a great technique to know if you need to make small cuts in ceramic tile, notches or combination cuts.  It turns your jig saw into a sort of homemade wet saw, allowing you to cut the tile with ease and without any worry about the blade overheating.

Tools and Materials Needed

-Jig Saw, equipped with diamond grit blade

-Small squirt bottle filled with water

-Clamps to hold the tile to the work surface

Instructions

1.  Securely clamp the tile to the work surface.

2.  Turn on the jig saw, and bring it up to speed before making the cut.

3.  While you are making the cut (or cuts), squirt water from the squirt bottle onto the blade where you are cutting.  This will prevent the blade from overheating, which would wear the blade out really quickly, or worse, excessive heat might cause the blade to break while you are cutting.

And that is all it takes to cut ceramic tile with a jig saw!
