DIY Tip: Buy Firewood in the Spring Time

Here is a tip.

If you love a roaring fire in your fireplace or fire pit in the cold months, stock up on firewood as soon as spring arrives. It will give the wood’s natural moisture time to dry out over the summer, so your wood will be fire-ready next fall.

Store the wood off the ground, and under an overhang if you have one. Or you can cover the wood with a tarp. Just make sure that the tarp doesn’t completely cover the wood, to allow for air flow through the pile.

An added bonus to getting your wood in the spring is that it is the off-season, so you can expect to save some money too. (up to $100 per cord)
