tune-up ignition coilYou will need a damaged bolt/nut remover set if you’re going to be working on your own car, period.  Is it exciting?  Perhaps not, but as every home do-it-yourself car mechanic knows, sometimes the only thing standing between you and success is a stripped nut that a regular ratchet set will not remove.  See, what a lot of folks don’t realize is that auto mechanics is an orderly, step-by-step, logical trade that makes sense.  Once you learn what functions different parts of your car perform, it is sometimes just a matter of removing a part or parts, and replacing them with new ones.  Sometimes you have to remove other parts to get to the part that you want to replace, and there will be a lot of removing of nuts and bolts involved.

So, the challenge to completing many jobs is often simply removing the existing part.  And if you have a rusted, stripped or rounded nut that you need to remove to get to that part, you won’t be able to remove it using traditional methods.  The good news is, you can purchase one of these damaged bolt/nut remover sets for a nominal cost, around $20, and your problem will be solved!  We have had great luck with the Craftsman model Bolt-out 5 Piece Damaged Bolt/Nut Remover Set, available through Sears or through Amazon (see below).

And it’s not just for cars!  It also works for any damaged bolt or nut around the house or yard, so will be a great addition to anyone’s tool box!
