5 Things to Tidy Up While Your Morning Coffee is Getting Ready

Contributed by Beverly Jenkins, Tidy Maids Cleaning Service

Ever wanted to learn a few ideas that can help you get a hold of your house chores? You are a working mum who seems not to get enough time to keep your home as clean as you would want. Seeing your home in total mess actually drives you crazy. This feeling can render one desperate, especially with the demands of their work and other commitments.

Fortunately, you do not have to lose your sanity over the mess, since there are several chores you can do in a few minutes time to make your home look presentable. Here are 5 things to tidy up while your morning coffee is getting ready, and lessen your weekly cleaning a great deal.

1.    Make Your Bed

Isn’t it just obvious? Well, you may be stunned to find out how the morning rush can actually derail one from performing even the obvious tasks. An organized home begins from your bedroom. If by any chance you jumped out of your bed and dashed to the bathroom in a hurry to beat the morning traffic, you can make things up when your coffee is brewing. Do not just stare at the machine as if this would make it work faster. Instead, take the time to make the bed, put any clothes lying on the chair into the closet, and take out any linen intended for washing.

2.    Take Care of An Area That Gives You A Lot Of Pressure To Clean

There are those clutter zones in your home. If left unattended for more than one day, everything turns chaotic there. In this case, you can keep cleanliness on check in that room by spending a few minutes each morning picking up items and storing them in their right place.

This could be the children’s room or play area, the living room, the kitchen or your bedroom. If this is your living area, give the couch a quick sweep and plump up the throw pillows. Arrange them in their suitable places. If time allows, you can vacuum the rug to spruce things up in this room.

3.    Wipe Bathroom Sinks, Squeegee the Walls and Floor

If left for long, soapy water marks, toothpaste spills, and other dirt can hold firmer on bathroom walls and sinks, making them hard to clean over time. Besides, you do not want to wake up to a dirty, disorderly bathroom, the place where you literally begin your day. This makes it necessary to clean this room on the go.

Always have a mini bathroom cleaning kit within your reach to avoid ransacking your house early in the morning looking for such materials. As your coffee brews, you can get some disinfecting wipes and clear off any toothpaste dribbles and other marks on the sink. If you have just finished your bath, take the squeegee and get rid of any water spots on the walls, floor and bathroom door. This actually prevents grime buildup, and clears the glass of shower steam.

4.    Organize the Kitchen and Sweep the Floor

Everyone wishes for a clean kitchen. This is one room where things can pile up and make cleaning burdensome. You don’t also feel like brewing coffee in a messy environment, do you? Use this time to organize the kitchen. There could be clean dishes in the drying rack or washer. Empty your dishwasher and arrange dishes in their designated cabinets.

Get a hold of a disinfectant wipe or a cleaning cloth and multipurpose detergent. Start wiping the counter tops, the sinks and the outer surfaces of cooking appliances. Just clean any visible marks, and restore the appliances to their right place.

Many people clear their kitchen sinks before going to bed. If you had not, take this time to stash the utensils in the dishwasher. You can leave the machine running as you continue preparing for work. This means you have a sink to wipe out and probably a kitchen floor to sweep as your coffee gets ready.

5.    Take Out the Trash

Do you want your house, especially the kitchen, to keep smelling fresh? Then take out the trash, clean the litter bin and put a new lining. This few seconds’ exercise can make a difference in your house. Getting the garbage out for collection in the morning means that you will walk into a fresh-smelling home when you return from work in the evening..
